Where the AndesMeet Your Lens

Small-group photography expeditions through the Andes. Led by someone who knows where the light hits, when to be there, and how to get the shot.

About

Matt Stacy spent 7 years finding the Andes' hidden gems—valleys with perfect morning light, ridges where condors soar. Now we take photographers there in small groups with custom routes timed around the light.

What We Do

Three Ways To Capture the Andes

Why Choose AAV

What Makes Us Different (Besides Knowing All the Secret Spots)

01

Matt Stacy Knows Where To Go

7 years shooting the Andes means we skip the crowds and go straight to where the light hits just right.

02

Photography is the Destination, Hiking is the Route.

Every decision - from timing to routes - is made with your camera in mind. This isn't a hike with photos, it's photography that happens to involve hiking.

03

Small Groups, Big Results

Maximum 6 people means everyone gets the shot, the guidance, and the experience they came for.

04

Skills Over Souvenirs

We won't hold your hand—we'll teach you to shoot with confidence and independence. Intensive instruction and editing workshops ensure you master the technical demands of high-altitude photography. You earn the shot.

What People Say

Notes From the Field

01
"Matt took us to this ridge at 5am. I've never worked so hard for a shot, and I've never been happier with the results. That sunrise over Huascarán? Still my desktop background six months later."

Sarah Chen

Cordillera Blanca Workshop|March 2024
02
"This wasn't a tour with photo opportunities. This was photography with Matt clearing the path. Every location was chosen for the light, every timing decision made for our cameras. Worth every penny."

James Morrison

03
"Six people max means everyone gets the shot. No fighting for position, no waiting your turn. Matt knows exactly where to put you so everyone wins. My wildlife portfolio doubled after one week."

Elena Rodriguez

04
"We went to spots I couldn't find on any map. The famous viewpoints? We actively avoided them. My feed doesn't look like everyone else's anymore. That's exactly what I paid for."

Marcus Webb

05
"Three days in and I realized Matt wasn't taking us to beautiful places. He was taking us to the right places at the right time. There's a massive difference. The Salar at dawn was absolutely surreal."
